The Temple of Emerald Buddha
The Temple of Emerald Buddha, officially known as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram, was established in 1782, the same time as the establishment of the Rattanakosin Kingdom. The temple was completed in 1784. The temple is situated in the grounds of the Grand Palace and was designed to imitate Wat Phra Si Sanphet from the Ayutthaya period. The Temple of Emerald Buddha is regarded as the most respectable temple in Thailand and the spiritual anchor of Thais which TUK TUK has taken some parts of the temple’s architecture to be on the dial design.
